Kyrgyzstan’s apple and pear imports down 58% as suppliers shift

According to the National Statistics Committee, in January–June 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported 4,349 tons of apples, pears, and quinces, a 58% decrease compared to the same period last year.

The decline is linked to changes in supplying countries. Iran, Turkey, and Afghanistan, previously among the key exporters, have halted shipments. Meanwhile, China cut its exports to Kyrgyzstan by almost 1.8 times.

As a result, the main suppliers in the first half of 2025 were Poland (2,048 tons), China (1,453 tons), and Uzbekistan (783 tons). Smaller volumes came from Kazakhstan (55 tons) and Russia (6 tons).
