Belarus will introduce export licensing for apples from September 1, 2025, for a period of six months, the government announced. The decision was signed by the Prime Minister and published by the state news agency BelTA.
Exports of apples, regardless of their country of origin, will only be allowed under one-off licenses issued by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, regional authorities, and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The government said licenses will be granted based on an assessment of available supplies in Belarus and domestic demand at the time of application. The measure is aimed at securing sufficient apple stocks for the domestic market during the off-season.
