First apple exports from Xizang autonomous region to Nepal

Apples from Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region have been exported to Nepal for the first time. The customs of Nyingchi city in Xizang cleared the export through the Girong port. The shipment included 23.38 tonnes of Fuji apples, with a total value of 194,100 yuan (approximately $27,350).

In the previous year, Nyingchi's apple cultivation expanded to 2,520 hectares, producing around 15,000 tons of apples worth 170 million yuan. Nyingchi Customs has introduced a green channel for the inspection of fresh and perishable local agricultural and food products, aiming to lower customs clearance costs for exporters. "We have established a green channel for the inspection of fresh and perishable local agricultural and food products, effectively reducing Customs clearance costs for businesses," stated Wang Cunrui, deputy director of Nyingchi Customs.
