Green apple production declines in South Africa

The agricultural sector in South Africa is witnessing a significant decrease in green apple production. According to recent data, varieties like Granny Smith and Golden Delicious have seen a 25% and 13% drop respectively between 2013 and 2022.

Red-Bi apples, with varieties like Royal Gala and Kanzi, have been seeing an this upward trend in the same period. Red apple varieties have been up and down, with Fujis and African Carmines increasing, but Braeburns and Oregon Spurs going down.
