China's trend of dyeing dogs with fruit and vegetable juices

In China, a new trend has emerged among dog owners, popularized through Xiao Hong Shu, where white dogs are being dyed vibrant shades of pink and green using natural dyes made from dragonfruit, spinach, and pumpkin. Owners blend the produce into a thin juice that acts as a harmless dye, resulting in dogs that resemble cartoon characters like Courage the Cowardly Dog.

While many find the trend adorable, there's concern over potential discomfort for the dogs. Despite some cases of fur tangling, professionals affirm the dyes are safe and washable, sparking debate over the practice's appropriateness.
