Chongqing welcomes first ILSTC China-Laos-Thailand cold chain train in Year of the Dragon

In a landmark event for Chongqing, the city celebrated the arrival of the first cold chain train in Year of the Dragon via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) from Laos, marking the start of a regular cross-border cold chain rail service with ASEAN countries. The service, which began on February 16, transported 200 tons of bananas from Laos to Chongqing's Jiangjin Xiaonanya Station, arriving on February 20 after customs clearance at Yunnan's Mohan Port. This operation signifies a major step in bolstering cross-border cold chain logistics between Chongqing and ASEAN nations.

The ILSTC cold chain service, initiated last June, initially focused on importing items such as hot pot ingredients from Laos. It has since expanded, including an export route to Thailand, enhancing the reciprocal cold chain logistics network between China, Laos, and Thailand. This service streamlines the process involving order processing, customs, and transport, with a notable reduction in customs clearance time at Mohan Port to just 4 hours.
