"First deliveries in Sicily, Emilia Romagna, Puglia and Calabria"

The time has already come to think about cordless thinners for stone fruit orchards

"It might be because of the mild weather or the increased awareness of producers as regards the effectiveness of such professional tools, but the interest for cordless thinners AF100, used especially for stone fruit, has spiked early. Over the past week, we have in fact delivered the first units in Sicily, Emilia Romagna, Puglia, Abruzzo and Calabria. We believe we can replicate the past season or even increase sales. Demand will peak in around twenty days," reports Leonardo Carrasso, owner of Cormaf Srl, the exclusive Italian distributor of the innovative professional equipment developed by Spanish company ARVIPO.

Cordless thinner ARVIPO AF 100 boasts 4 speeds and, thanks to the change in rotation direction, it enables users to move easily and reach complex parts of the trees without renouncing precision and, most of all, without damaging buds, flowers and branches. It is therefore useful to remove excess flowers and fruitlets."

"Many entrepreneurs have understood how much manual thinning is affecting the balance sheets, as it is usually a costly and lengthy operation that often involves multiple teams of workers. This tool makes it possible to halve the personnel involved, thus solving the problem caused by the lack of labor. In addition, if the weather were to worsen, it is possible to stop operations and pick them up as soon as possible as only few units per hectare are needed. Thinners can also be used by personnel with less experience and by both sexes as they are lightweight, practical, quiet and vibration-free."

What is new is the two ARVIPO telescopic tips that can be attached to cordless thinner AF100, but which can be used also for pruning, meaning they can be attached to the shears from the same range. They are available in two lengths: 90 to 150 cm and 150 to 210 cm. "There are growers dealing with stone fruit groves where trees are high and not compact. Tips are suitable to reach the less accessible points. The thinner is equipped with two 16.8 V batteries that last over 8 hours each, which can also be used for all ARVIPO tools including shears, chainsaw and telescopic pruner."
