Lenk Frut, an agricultural company, has invested €5,784,688 in a citrus orchard located in the Separdi village of the Lankaran district.
The orchard's total area of 150 hectares boasts a plantation of 141,000 citrus, peach, and nectarine trees, primarily imported from Turkey.
For the implementation of the project, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund provided a preferential loan of €5,406,250. Additionally, the Agricultural Credit and Development Agency, under the Ministry of Agriculture, granted an interest-free credit of €80,012.5.
Modern drip irrigation systems are utilized throughout the orchard. The orchard is equipped with 15 units of winter-temperature maintenance equipment, valued at $2.2 million. This equipment raises the temperature to normal levels during the winter months when temperatures drop below freezing. One unit safeguards 9 hectares of land from frost, and there are plans to install five more units in the coming years.
The expected citrus plantation yield is estimated to be between 35–40 tons per hectare, surpassing local varieties by 2–3 times. The produced fruits are not only intended for the domestic market but are also earmarked for export to Russia.
