ILIP at the IPM and MyPlant & Garden trade fairs with its R-PET hortipack products

ILIP opens 2024 confirming its participation in two important trade fairs dedicated to the vegetable and flower nursery industry. From 23 to 26 January, the Bologna-based company will be taking its Hortipack products (propagation trays, carriers with trays, cultivation and transport pot holders and pots with diameters of 10 and 14 cm) to IPM Essen in Germany, the key international trade fair for the green industry, and from 21 to 23 February will be at MyPlant & Garden at the Milan - Rho trade fair, the reference professional industry event in Italy.

The Hortipack range satisfies the growing attention paid by operators in the horticultural industry to sustainability, a focus that is bringing about a considerable increase in the demand for recycled plastic products. Indeed, the thermoformed Hortipack items are also made from R-PET, which derives from the recycling of post-consumption PET food packaging and R-PET milk bottles. By extruding these multicoloured plastics, we obtain a secondary raw material in the grey colour that denotes the Hortipack range. This colour not only optimises the appearance of the vegetable or flower product but also facilitates the identification in the sorting centres during recycling.

In addition, ILIP can guarantee the quality of the R-PET used, as the company is one of the three ILPA Group companies that together constitute a concrete circular economy model in which the R-PET supply chain and the production process are integrated, thereby guaranteeing the origin and traceability of the material.

The Hortipack products include the R-PET T2T (tray to tray) project, the carriers with trays and the 10 and 14 cm diameter pots. ILIP’s horticultural packaging guarantees ease of use in the production lines, a reduction of machine downtime, resistance to handling and an increase in the number of items in packs, thanks to the easy unstacking.

The complete range of carriers that includes models to hold 6, 8 or 10 trays, is available in both PS and R-PET and in the normal or window version. The 100% R-PET pot stands out for the numerous drainage holes and as mentioned, the easy unstacking on the machine.

Accompanying this, again in grey, ILIP also produces R-PET potholders that, thanks to the elasticity of the materials, guarantee the same loading capacity as those in PS and do not break during loading and unloading. Moreover, the smooth finish of the R-PET ensures proper optimisation of space when preparing trolleys, reducing the incidence of the environmental impact of transport.

The appointments with ILIP are at:

IPM in Essen: 3D69
My Plant & Garden in Milan: Hall 16, Stand F20.
