‘Demain la Terre’ members donated 285 tons of fruit & veg in 2016

On the 3rd National Day of the Agricultural Donation on September 20th 2017, organized under the patronage of the French Ministry of Agriculture, the ‘Demain la Terre’ (Tomorrow for the Earth) Organization reviewed the donations of fruit and vegetables from its members to food aid associations.

Indeed, ‘Demain la Terre’, which brings together fruit and vegetable producers involved in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, has focused its societal involvement on supporting those in need. Thus, each year, producers give fruits and vegetables from their production to food aid associations, which is one of the requirements of the ‘Demain la Terre’ Charter.

Some producers work in direct partnership with these associations (Les Restos du Cœur for Planète Végétal, Fruits Rouges & Co. and Ferme de la Motte, the Food Bank for Le Verger de la Blottière). Others (such as Kultive and Val de Sérigny) use the French Solaal platform - Solidarity from agricultural producers and food chains.

In 2016, producers donated more than 285 tons of fruit and vegetables to those in need through food aid associations, which is 24% more than the previous year.

In addition, at the Paris Agricultural Show 2017 where ‘Demain la Terre’ Organization was exhibiting for the first time, fruits and vegetables that were not eaten during the Show were donated to these associations via Solaal. This represents more than 200 kg of fruits and vegetables.
