On 11 August, Huyi District in Xi'an ordered employees to come to the two grape fields at Qinduzhen in Yuwangmiao village. Around 10.000 kg of grapes were picked from the fields, covered with lime, and buried deep.

"Using growth stimulators increases the quantity of grapes, but many have already fallen off," a grape farmer says. A representative of the Huyi District Agricultural Technology Promotion Center explains that several farmers have already reported that many of their grapes have been falling off.

The department showed in a report that grapes on over half a hectare in Yuwangmiao village had been treated with growth stimulators. The destruction and disinfection of the grapes was then ordered, because the grapes are not up to the quality standards.
