American cherries move to China
"We have had perfect weather this winter and spring with lots of snow in the mountains insuring a plentiful water supply. To ensure we have high quality cherries from the beginning to the end of the season and to minimize local weather issues our cherry growers have orchards that are spread out over a large geographic area." From Oregon’s Hood River Valley to the highest elevations and Northern most growing regions in Washington. "This year we expect the season to start a little earlier than normal but probably not as early as last year and volume shipments should extend well in to August for the later and higher elevation orchards."
"This season we will be packing all of our cherries in our Wenatchee Washington warehouse. That means every cherry we sell will go across the most modern Unitec computerized grading and packing equipment available. Our 2 Unitec cherry lines will sort the cherries for grade, size and internal condition with amazing speed and accuracy. We expect great market conditions for our finest cherries in China and other markets throughout Asia." As the season progresses the details will start to become clear.
