German buying power to increase 2.74% in 2015

In the recent report 'GfK Kaufkraft Deutschland 2015', conducted by German research bureau GFK, Germans will have, on average, 572 Euro more per person to spend in 2015 compared to 2014 (+2.74%). However, this will differ vastly per region, reports the German website Gabot.de. There will be less to spend, on average, in the eastern German states compared to the rest of Germany.

Gfk estimates a purchasing power of 1.7 billion Euro for the whole of Germany in the coming year. With 80,767,463 residents (as per 1-1-2014), this comes to 21,449 Euro per head.
