EU imported 1,261.55 million kg of peppers

Between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014 the European Union imported a total of 1,261.55 million kilograms of fresh and frozen peppers, reports the German website Fruchtnews.de. This cost the EU 1,794,410 Euro in total. 

Spain supplied the most peppers to the EU with a total of 529.31 million kg, followed by the Netherlands with 386.71 million kg and Morocco with 68.7 million kg. Israel came in fourth with 61.61 million kg, followed by Germany with 38.4 million kg, Belgium with 25.89 million kg, France with 22.78 million kg, Turkey with 21.70 million kg and Hungary and Macedonia with 13.6 million kg of peppers each.
