Market participants surveyed by Mintec in the first week of May were expecting strong shipments ahead of the release of the April 2024 position report on 14 May 2024. Estimates for the April shipment figure were reported in the range of 210-245 million pounds, with most respondents returning figures of 220-235 million pounds.
"We've had a good month, but there is a fair amount of variance in the people I've spoken to. No one has had a bad month, but some have definitely had stronger shipments than others," a US exporter said to Mintec.
