"Chilean walnut production down by 15-25% compared to 2023"

The Chilean Nut Producer and Exporter Association, Chilenut, has released a statement to inform the industry about the current situation of the walnut harvest in Chile.

According to data collected over the last two weeks in both fields and de-husking and drying plants, the start of the harvest has been delayed by 10 to 15 days compared to a normal season. Also, production volumes are expected to fall by between 15% and 25% compared to the 2023 campaign.

The key quality parameters are normal, with just a slight 1% decrease in the case of nut flesh yield.

Chilenut stated that this information will be updated in the coming weeks.
