Iraq is a significant consumer in the global markets of Iranian dates, as indicated by data from Iran. Iran, recognized as a premier date producer, reported exports totaling approximately 389,500 tons valued at $345.4 million for the year 2023. This marks a 4% increase in volume and a 6.7% rise in value over the previous year. Iraq emerged as the seventh-largest importer among 82 countries, purchasing 8,886 tons of Iranian dates, amounting to $9.44 million. India, Pakistan, and Turkey were the top three importers of these dates, respectively.
