Our Client:

Our client, Protected Cropping Australia Ltd (PCA) is the peak industry body for protected cropping with a focussed mission to represent businesses utilising protected cropping and advanced growing systems in Australia and New Zealand. A ‘members first’ body, they strive to add value by promoting and supporting protected cropping to make the industry innovative, relevant, progressive, and prosperous.

The Position:

The Executive Officer is a part time role with responsibility for the execution of the PCA’s overarching strategy focussing on strategic planning, advocacy, policy, stakeholder relationships, and initiatives such as events, campaigns, and promotions.  


Reporting to a board, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Setting and delivering the strategic direction of PCA
  • Business development and driving the financial capacity of PCA
  • Leading advocacy and government relations
  • Promoting and raising awareness of the protected cropping industry
  • Setting industry policy positions on key issues and challenges
  • Project management and industry development



To be successful in this exciting industry leadership position, candidates will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Willingness to work flexible part time – 2/3 days per week (FT opportunity in future)
  • As this is a part time role, highly honed prioritisation skills
  • Skills and experience working with a membership-based organisation
  • Experience with stakeholder and partnership relationships to drive advocacy and outcomes for members
  • Comfortable being the face of PCA, with some media responsibilities including managing and delivering successful events
  • Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate governance principles and practices
  • Exposure to financial management
