Limoneira Company has announced the sale of its two Chilean ranches, Pan de Azúcar and San Pablo. The properties include about 500 acres (202 hectares) of lemons, 100 acres (40 hectares) of oranges, and additional unplanted land. The transaction closed on November 7, 2025, with a total sale price of roughly US$15 million. The company will receive US$6.8 million in initial cash proceeds and expects to limit most tax liabilities in Chile related to the sale. Limoneira will retain its 47 per cent stake in a citrus packing, selling, and marketing business in Chile.

The company stated that the sale aligns with ongoing plans to adjust agricultural operations and manage land and water assets. Current agricultural priorities include streamlining operations, expanding avocado production, optimising lemon packing through a recently announced partnership with Sunkist, and expanding an organic recycling facility.
On the land and water side, Limoneira plans to continue selling non-strategic land assets, with the remaining near-term pipeline valued at about US$40 million. The company also intends to sell certain water rights valued between US$50 million and US$70 million.
Chief executive Harold Edwards said the sale is part of a broader long-term plan to monetise real estate development assets, which the company values at US$355 million to US$405 million. He added that Limoneira will continue to adjust its operations to improve overall efficiency.
