FS-3600 expands with MultiSystem upgrade

The FS-3600 vegetable processing machine has been updated with a wider range of cutting functions, now available in both the MultiCut and the newly introduced MultiSystem versions. These upgrades are designed to offer increased versatility and improved processing capacity, with cutting options that include sticks, wedges (with optional coring), slices, and halved pieces.

The machine features a mobile, stainless steel frame with an open design intended for ease of cleaning and hygiene compliance. A quick-change blade system allows for straightforward operation and maintenance. According to Managing Director Karsten Schmitz, the goal of the updates is to further streamline operations and improve machine performance in line with customer requirements. Schmitz has led the transition from the former Foodcons GmbH & Co. KG to the new German branch, Sormac GmbH.

Recent modifications to the MultiCut version include an upgraded 10-inch touchscreen with a revised interface and simplified controls. New Z-shaped conveyor belts with a discharge height of 860 mm aim to improve ergonomics for operators. Additionally, the introduction of a "Cup belt" allows sliced products to be captured in containers that prevent them from separating during handling, making the setup suitable for delicate produce like tomato slices.

The development of the FS-3600 MultiSystem marks the most significant update, allowing the processing line to be customized according to operational needs. Additions include an advanced touchscreen with automated warnings, performance metrics, and a counting feature. The system now supports a processing capacity of up to 4,000 units per hour.

A notable feature of the MultiSystem is its capacity for direct filling of catering trays. With the aid of a sensor-controlled product counter, the machine can accurately deliver a predetermined number of cut items into trays. This function is made possible by the newly introduced Tray Belt, which works with all available cutting programs for flexible output.
