Average wholesale prices for bananas in Bulgaria saw a marginal decline between weeks 21 and 22 of 2025. In week 21, the price stood at €145 / 100 kg, dipping by €1 to €144 / 100 kg in week 22. This slight adjustment reflects a stable market with only minimal week-on-week variation.
Spain experienced a modest uptick in banana prices over the same period. Week 21 recorded an average of €157 / 100 kg, which rose to €162 / 100 kg in week 22. The €5 increase suggests a short-term tightening of supply or elevated demand within the Spanish market.
Ireland's average banana price fell from €117 / 100 kg in week 21 to €107 / 100 kg in week 22. This €10 reduction marks the largest week-on-week drop among the examined markets, indicating a notable easing of price pressures.
In Croatia and Slovakia, both markets saw declines, with Slovakia's price falling from €155 / 100 kg in week 21 to €130 / 100 kg in week 22—a decrease of €25. Croatia's average dipped from €128 / 100 kg to €112 / 100 kg, down €16. These shifts point to a broader downward trend in certain Central European banana markets.
