Bananas – Wholesale Prices

Banana prices up 1.5% in Germany, down 4.4% in Latvia

In the week ending 20 April 2025 (week 16), the wholesale price of bananas from Latin America and the Caribbean in Germany (DE) increased slightly compared to the previous week. The price rose from €136 per 100 kg in week 15 to €137 in week 16, reflecting a marginal €1 increase.

Spain (ES), on the other hand, experienced a decrease in banana prices over the same period. Prices dropped from €149 per 100 kg in week 15 to €147 in week 16, marking a decline of €2. This change shows a minor adjustment in the Spanish market.

Latvia (LV) recorded the most notable price movement among the selected countries, with a significant drop of €7. The average wholesale price decreased from €122 per 100 kg in week 15 to €115 in week 16, indicating a notable shift in pricing for that week.

France (FR) saw a slight increase in banana prices. The price rose from €132 in week 15 to €134 per 100 kg in week 16. This €2 rise represents a small upward adjustment in the French market during the given period.
