How to determine the height of your palms

Gadot Agro has unveiled a new cultivation model for a range of palm varieties — date, coconut, oil, and ornamentals. At the heart of this model is Unik™, a novel product designed to regulate plant growth and manage tree height effectively. Dr. Daphna Blachinsky, VP Agronomy at Gadot Agro explains: "As with all plants, regulating the amount of energy a palm invests in growth, helps it become more productive and bear fruits at an earlier age."

Unik (50 cc per tree) vs Control - Except for the other advantages mentioned about Unik, it prevented the shrivel of the dates, and their ageing.

Dr Blachinsky explains further: "Unik also helps on the other end of the plantation's lifespan: Slowing the growth of the palm prolongs the golden years in which the fruit is at ground-picking height, with a significant financial impact. Applying Unik results in the improvement of multiple parameters such as fruit size, quality, oil contents, and frond shape, depending on the type of palm and the farmer's goals. The product's advanced formulation is safer and acts by inhibiting gibberellic acid, a hormone responsible for cell elongation. This mechanism empowers growers to precisely control plant growth rates so the tree can channel resources better and balance between tree health and optimal fruit or frond characteristics."

The specific Unik application protocols Gadot Agro has developed over the years around the world, are available for various palm varieties including ornamentals like Archontophoenix alexandrae, Phoenix canariensis, Phoenix dactylifera, Syagrus romanzoffiana, Washingtonia filifera and robusta, among many others, cultivated under different climatic and soil conditions, and for trees of all ages.
