Peel Ports Group builds new multi-dollar storage facility at Port of Liverpool

Peel Ports Group has announced an investment of approximately US$34.5 million in a new facility at the Port of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. The company's largest single storage investment in the current year aims to a nearly 22,300m² warehouse, which is expected to be built at Peel Port's Alexandra Dock.

The construction of the new facility, Alexandra Dock Multi-User Warehouse (MUW), is expected to begin in the coming days. The new warehouse will have a length of up to 400 metres and will be utilised for cargo processing and storage at the UK major port.

UK-based construction company Glencar will carry out the work, which is scheduled to be finished in April 2024.

The storage facility will be capable of storing a wide range of goods, both unitised and non-unitised, that require indoor storage, according to Peel Ports' statement. As part of the planned construction, the facility will include 300 metres of dedicated quayside and "cutting-edge cranes" to improve vessel discharge.
