The majority of the import are fruits and vegetables that are not grown in Russia or are limited in supply due to climate conditions and seasonality.
The largest shares of imports are grapes (39%), persimmons (15%), and stone fruits (11%). Typically, the peak of fruit and vegetable imports from Uzbekistan occurs in October and November.
A significant portion of imports also occurs during the summer months for stone fruits (sweet cherries, nectarines, peaches, plums) and melons, as well as the beginning of the grape ripening season.
