Procesavo:

"We collect and pay for your rejected and damaged avocados across Europe.”

Importers and distributors of avocado’s in Europe need not worry about carrying the costs of rejected and damaged products anymore, Procesavo will collect and pay you for them instead.

“We use any type of avocado regardless of its origin, size, or whether it has suffered any damage during the exportation or ripening process or does not meet the necessary quality standards. We collect avocados from suppliers' warehouses throughout Europe - importers, supermarkets, exporters, producers, etc.- and take them to our processing plant, where they are prepared for oil extraction,” states Nadia Martinez Project Manager from Procesavo.

These bins full of reject and damaged avocados are processed by Procesavo.

The company was created with the purpose of providing a solution to the waste and residues of avocados, as it is currently one of the most commercialised and imported products in Europe. “We have helped many companies with their management of rejected avocados, being their most sustainable and profitable solution, avoiding the cost of destruction. Our service is characterized by our quick response to the supplier, and we inform them of the weight of their merchandise, they send us their invoice and we pay them within a period of no more than 48 hours,” explains Martinez.

Procesavo’s main processing plant is in The Netherlands, as one of the most important logistics hubs, situated near the port of Rotterdam, which receives up to 600 containers of avocados weekly. “It is important to mention that Procesavo currently has locations in the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, and plans to expand its activities to other countries in the coming years.”

“Our main objective, in addition to preventing companies from wasting avocados, is to contribute to the sustainability of the agri-food world in general, improving the current supply chain, avoiding waste, while reducing the carbon footprint, as well as promoting the consumption of avocado oil. It is a very healthy fat and little known in the continent of Europe, which we hope to change,” explains Martinez.

Procesavo is a global company that really ensures a circular economy around the avocado, Mexico's  most exported product. Besides oil, the other products they create from the avocado include consumer products, renewable energy and animal feed. “We use every part of the avocado, from the skin to the flesh as well as the pit to ensure a truly circular economy and zero waste,” concludes Martinez.
