Plasgad to attend Macfrut:

Smart packaging for all kinds of needs

Israeli packaging and container producer Plasgad will attend Macfrut for the first time. FreshPlaza has talked about it with the marketing manager for Europe, Patricia Marquiegui.

FreshPlaza (FP): What's the history of your company?
Patricia Marquiegui (PM): Plasgad was set up in 1982. It has two production sites in Israel and another in the US (Plasgad USA LLC). We sell all over the world and distribute to over 30 countries, supplying our solutions to thousands of companies. Plasgad Europe is a branch of Plasgad Plastic Products, through which we serve and supply the entire European continent. Our production plants and warehouses in Valencia and our extensive network of European partners help us provide sustainable and reusable solutions to all markets.

FP: What does your company do?
PM: We develop smart, reusable and recyclable solutions for specific storage and shipping needs. We help store and transport a wide range of goods in a cost-effective and sustainable manner at the international level. The design of our products is always special, helping our clients save on warehouse space as well as transport and handling costs. We always strive to find logistic excellence in our clients' specific processes and systems.

FP: What are your more recent innovations?
PM: We have developed the most modern and sustainable collapsible crate available on the market - our new PFV618 PRO. It is an all-terrain crate suitable for all export and distribution needs, and it supports all automated systems, from destackers, stackers, and tunnel washers to all kinds of conveyors. We recently also introduced pallets part of the Logistic series PG1090 (120x100cm) and PG1080 (120x80cm), both boasting a series of customization options to adapt to all types of shelving systems, automated warehouses, and field use.

FP: What are your clients asking for?
PM: Our most demanding clients and growers are looking for shipping and packaging solutions that are safe and reliable, suitable for the characteristics, needs, and specific processes of their products. They need safe solutions for their food products that can protect them, guarantee high-quality standards, and reduce waste.

FP: Where do you export to?
MP: We work all over the world thanks to our excellent partners with whom we establish relationships of trust, respect, and ongoing communication. This formula enables us to establish satisfactory and lasting relations, as we are looking for winning and lasting relationships.

FP: What are the main logistic problems?
MP: The market is ever-evolving, and international transport costs have increased over the past year. Adapting to market uncertainties and finding routes, partners, and efficient packaging is essential to maintain healthy profit margins. We believe that circular solutions equipped with IoT technology represent the present and future of packaging and logistics.
