Deadline for presentation of agri-food promotion programs with Community co-financing: April 20

April 20 is the deadline for organizations from the 27 EU Member States to present food promotion programs they want to develop on the EU market and in third countries. The European Commission, which provides co-financing, launched the call for proposals on February 2. The process will be completed in the fall with the announcement of the approved programs.

In 2023, the European Commission will allocate € 185.9 million to finance promotional activities for EU agri-food products at home and abroad. The bulk of this amount will be used to co-finance Commission-approved campaigns by interested organizations from the 27 EU Member States. Various organizations, such as professional associations, producer organizations, and agri-food groups responsible for promotional activities, can submit their proposals and apply for EU funding.

The so-called "simple" programs can be presented by one or more organizations from the same EU country. € 89 million will be set aside for these programs in 2023.

"Multiple" programs can be presented by at least two national organizations from at least two Member States, or by one or more European organizations. These programs will have a budget of € 87.4 million, according to information from the European Commission, consulted by FEPEX.

Applications can be submitted from February 2 to April 20 via the European Research Executive Agency's website and the promotion actions must be carried out from 2024, for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years.
