According to data from Fresh Fruit Peru, which created this report in collaboration with Redagricola, the Top 50 largest exporting firms in Peru according to the value of their exports, are as follows:
Exports of the Top 50 exporters amounted to US$3.25 billion, i.e. 7% more than in 2021. Exports from the remaining exporters totaled US$1,296 million (+16%), which means that fresh fruit exports from the industry as a whole amounted to US$4.546 billion (+9%).
Top 3 Most Exported Fruits
Blueberry became the leading fruit in export value after the value of blueberry exports increased by 12%, reaching US$1.405 billion, thanks to a 33% increase in volumes. Camposol, Hortifrut and Agrovision continued to be the leading exporters, by volume, of this fruit.
Blueberries surpassed grapes, which grew by 9% to US$1.387 billion. Rapel, Ecosac, and El Pedregal continued to lead grape exports.
Despite leading exports by volume in 2021 with the shipment of almost 620 million kilos (+11%), avocado ranked as the third most exported fruit by value as its low prices led to a 13% fall in value to US$954 million. The country's leading avocado exporters were Avocado Packing Company, Westfalia Fruit, and Virú.
Top Destinations for Peruvian Fruit
The United States ranked first after importing Peruvian fresh fruit worth US$2,265 billion (+21%), surpassing the European Union which registered imports of US$1,749 million (-11%).
China ranked third with imports worth US$518.6 million and a 6% increase.
Shipments of fresh fruit to Latin America amounted to US$366 million and did not grow. Sociedad Agrícola Rapel, Los Olivos de Villacuri, and Ecosac Agrícola were the biggest players in these markets.
