Located near the shore of Lake Ontario in the scenic region of Niagara, Ontario Canada, Hendriks Greenhouses is a well established and respected company that can look back on a tradition of steady growth.
Hendriks’ Greenhouses Indoor Garden production has been supplying the floral industry, in both Canada and the U.S for many years, putting care and pride into each basket. Today, the same care and pride is committed to our products, while fulfilling orders for over 10,000 units per day, during peak seasons.
We are currently recruiting for a Head Section Grower. This solution oriented, hands-on manager will be responsible for 6 acres of crops. These crops will include tropical plants such as ivy, schefflera, palm, alocasia, etc.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Providing direction and leadership for the team of section growers.
- Maintaining and continually improving on guidelines for all crop protocols to achieve operational excellence.
- Training and mentoring staff for new applications, including bios, fungicides and other environmental controls.
- Building relationships with other departments to review and adjust crop schedules as needed.
- Constantly monitoring crop quality, ensuring that pests, disease and waste are minimized.
The Ideal Candidate has:
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- 5 or more years of experience in a similar position
- Is flexible and willing to work rotating weekends
- Spanish language skills are an asset
