In the week ending 15 June 2025 (week 24), wholesale banana prices in several European countries showed mixed movements compared to the previous week (ending 8 June 2025). According to the latest data, Latvia (LV) recorded a minor price increase, with average wholesale rates rising from €100 to €101 per 100 kilograms. While modest, this change signals a degree of price stability in the Latvian market.
Croatia (HR), on the other hand, experienced the most notable price decline. The average wholesale price dropped sharply from €127 in week 23 to €111 in week 24, a decrease of €16 per 100 kg, suggesting either improved supply conditions or weakening demand. Austria (AT) also saw a slight reduction in prices, with averages falling from €124 to €121 per 100 kg over the same period.
In contrast, Romania (RO) recorded a small price increase, with banana prices moving up from €156 to €158 per 100 kg, maintaining one of the higher price levels in the region. Slovakia (SK) reported a drop from €153 to €149 per 100 kg, continuing a slight downward trend. These week-on-week changes highlight the varying supply and demand dynamics affecting banana prices across different European wholesale markets.
