Following previous successful editions focused on Italian and Spanish products, as well as a special Asparagus Day, De Mooij-Amsterdam hosted a well-attended French theme day last Thursday.
The event spotlighted the extensive French range, which now holds an important place in the wholesaler's offering. From early morning, there was a lively atmosphere at the Food Center, which was fully decorated in French style. A chef prepared various French delicacies on the spot, including crêpes with fresh fruit.
"A theme day like this allows us to showcase both our established assortment and new, distinctive products," said Danny de Mooij. "In recent years, we've significantly expanded our French range, especially in garlic, potatoes, and tomatoes. The tomato selection now includes a broad variety of types, varying in color, flavor, and size. These specializations are highly valued by our customers and provide them with fresh inspiration for their own assortments."
In addition to showcasing products, the theme days have evolved into enjoyable, informal gatherings for customers, employees, and associates. "What originally began as a customer-focused service activity has now become an opportunity to catch up with colleagues, suppliers, and partners—to share ideas on trends, market developments, and growth opportunities," De Mooij continued.
The day also served as a fitting moment to highlight the integration of MBF Savannah's operations into De Mooij-Amsterdam. "All production is now centralized at our Amsterdam location. Customers are now served from the Food Center, and this event was the perfect opportunity to give them a more in-depth introduction to our complete range."
