From January to April 2025, agricultural enterprises in Surkhandarya, Uzbekistan, exported 44,000 tons of vegetables and fruits with a total value of $41.3 million, according to regional administration reports.
The primary export destinations were:
- Russia receives 34% of all agricultural products from the region.
- Pakistan ranked second, purchasing 29% of the total volume;
- Afghanistan occupied the third position, accounting for 22% of the exports;
- Additionally, products were also exported to Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The region's agricultural producers focus on diversifying their product range. Key exports include fresh vegetables and fruits, known for their high quality. For instance, tomatoes, cucumbers, and fruits like grapes and pomegranates are predominantly shipped to Russia. Conversely, Pakistan and Afghanistan import primarily onions and carrots. Kazakhstan and Belarus also show interest in these products, enabling Surkhandarya to broaden its market reach.
