The average wholesale prices of bananas from Latin America and the Caribbean showed notable changes between week 17 (ending April 27, 2025) and week 18 (ending May 4, 2025) in several European countries. In Greece (EL), prices decreased slightly from €121 per kilogram in week 17 to €123 in week 18, indicating a slight upward adjustment. Similarly, in Spain (ES), the average price dropped from €149 to €145 per kilogram over the same period, reflecting a moderate decline.
In France (FR), the price also experienced a slight decrease, moving from €131 per kilogram in week 17 to €130 in week 18. This minor reduction aligns with general market fluctuations observed in the region. Meanwhile, Latvia (LV) reported a more significant price change, with the average price dropping from €117 in week 17 to €114 in week 18, showing a downward trend.
Slovakia (SK) also witnessed a price reduction, with the average price falling from €134 per kilogram in week 17 to €119 in week 18. This decrease represents one of the more substantial adjustments among the countries analyzed, highlighting potential market changes affecting wholesale banana pricing in Slovakia. The variations across these markets reflect the dynamic nature of wholesale banana pricing in Europe.
