By March 2025, Russia's importation of Chinese strawberries reached $3.4 million, as per PRC customs data. This positions Russia as the leading consumer of these berries, surpassing Vietnam, the previous leader. According to RIA Novosti, this marks a doubling of February's import value from China.
At the start of spring, Russia's market dominance became evident, overtaking Vietnam, whose imports totaled $2.5 million. Hong Kong ranks third among importers with $1.9 million.
From January to March, Russia imported $5.7 million worth of Chinese strawberries, compared to $2.3 million the previous year. Market experts consider this a record in bilateral trade.
