Dunsters Farm has acquired Ralph Livesey, a long-established fresh produce wholesaler based in Lancashire. Ralph Livesey, founded in 1920 as a market stall in Preston, has grown into a regional supplier with depots in Preston and Bolton, known for its expertise in fresh produce and strong relationships with local growers. The acquisition is expected to enhance Dunsters Farm's fresh produce range and support its growth across the North and Midlands.
Hannah Barlow, Managing Director of Dunsters Farm, described the acquisition as a strategic move to strengthen the company's position in the regional food supply sector. "Ralph Livesey has built a strong reputation for high-quality produce and customer loyalty. Our shared values and regional roots make this a natural fit," she explained. Both companies began in the North-West—Ralph Livesey with a market stall in Preston and Dunsters Farm with a milk round in Bury—reflecting a shared history of community-focused growth.
Andrew Christian, Managing Director at Ralph Livesey, noted that the decision to join Dunsters Farm was based on a strong alignment of values and customer focus. "We've built trusted relationships over generations, and Dunsters Farm shares our commitment to quality and sustainability," he said.
The acquisition allows Dunsters Farm to broaden its fresh produce offerings while maintaining its focus on local sourcing and independent operation. Both companies aim to continue serving customers in the education, hospitality, and retail sectors, leveraging their combined expertise and strong supplier networks.
