In 2024, perennial crop production in Georgia reached 620.5 thousand tons, an increase of 133.6 thousand tons compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
The rise in production was primarily attributed to grapes, apples, peaches, and plums. Grape production increased by 100.8 thousand tons (45.7%), apples by 26.3 thousand tons (52.2%), and peaches and plums by 10.4 thousand tons (35.4%).
Other perennial crops also experienced growth during the reporting period. Hazelnut production grew by 17.1% (6.3 thousand tons), pears by 20.2% (1.9 thousand tons), and berries by 32.8% (1.9 thousand tons).
