Uzbek-Russian fruit logistics hub opens in Omsk region

The wholesale distribution logistics center "Frutsiti" has initiated operations in the Omsk region, Russia, focusing on the storage and sale of fruits and vegetables from the Ferghana region, Uzbekistan. This development was announced by the regional administration.

The first phase of the complex was inaugurated last week, attended by Khayrulla Bazarov, the khokim of Ferghana, Botirjon Asadov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, and representatives from business and local authorities.

Occupying a 9-hectare site, the center features 16 storage hangars, each 380 sq.m, 72 retail spaces, parking for 450 trucks, a trade house, and an exhibition center for Ferghana. The project investment reached 700 million rubles, equivalent to approximately 108 billion soums or US$8.33 million. The center will employ about 800 Uzbek citizens permanently.

Khayrulla Bazarov highlighted during the opening the center's role in maintaining stable agricultural product supplies from Uzbekistan to Russia, with plans for additional phases of the complex soon. Initial project plans surfaced in the fall of 2022. The Uzbek side intends to utilize the logistics center to distribute products across all regions of Siberia.
