Altes Land in Germany:

"We can pack around 100 tons a day"

High-tech is increasingly being used in fruit growing and trading in Germany's Altes Land region. At the Hauschildt fruit wholesale company in Guderhandviertel, single-armed industrial robots from regional supplier Palm Systems are now helping to pack pallets. "We can pack around 100 tons a day," says managing director Patrick Hauschildt, who has been running the company since 2016. The family business consists of a 90-hectare fruit farm and a fruit wholesale business, which operates throughout Germany.

Since last fall, packaging has been carried out at the brand-new location in Guderhandviertel (FreshPlaza reported). The sorting and storage of the top and stone fruit continues to take place at the 'old' location in Wisch.
