Maersk shifts Jeddah operations to DP World Terminal for improved efficiency

On February 8, A.P. Moller-Maersk announced the transition of its services from the Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in Jeddah to the Dubai Port World Terminal (DPW), during a gathering with DP World dignitaries.

This operational change seeks to improve service efficiency by centralizing activities at a single terminal, aligning with the global Gemini cooperation between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd AG that started on February 1, 2025.

Mohammed Amer, CX Director at Maersk Saudi Arabia, stated, "The Gemini cooperation will provide our Saudi customers with additional capacity, enhanced reliability, reduced transit times, and efficient connectivity to key trade routes across Asia and Europe."

The network supports Jeddah's role in Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to transform it into a global logistics hub. By leveraging DPW, Maersk accesses a significant transshipment hub, potentially streamlining cargo movement across various trade routes.
