"Already in early 2025, marked by significant raspberry market demand for both spring and summer deliveries, our team began planning and organizing the blueberry production calendar for fall deliveries. The company is currently finalizing orders for deliveries starting in September," says the Italian company Molari Società Agricola. "Our nursery is dedicated to the production and distribution of some top varieties such as Blue Ribbon, Cargo, Ventura, Valor, and Draper."

But there's more. The nursery also produces the Cupla variety for production in the Mediterranean region. This variety is making its own mark in terms of early ripening and flavor. And this is where the most important news comes in.
"With G-Berries, we have invested in the management of some new southern highbush varieties, and 2025 will be the year of the official launch of this exciting new Naike BlueBerry Club project. The varieties have been developed in Argentina through a partnership between EarlyCrop and the University of Fauba and, like G-Berries, we will manage them globally," says Luca Molari, managing partner of the company.

"The plants for the first trials will be available from fall 2025 and we are currently collecting applications from interested companies worldwide. The first trials will certainly be in Southern Italy, Spain, and Morocco, and we're also evaluating a start-up in Egypt, a country on the launching pad. Sub-Saharan and Asian countries will be considered at a later stage. The plants will be produced in the new TC Home of Molari Società Agricola in Cesena (Emilia-Romagna region), and we are establishing a collaboration with a foreign partner. Behind this is a well-defined strategy, both at the technical/agronomic level and at the marketing level, in order to provide all the tools to the companies that will co-operate with us in this new project," continues Matteo Molari.
Alessandro Gualandi, Variety Development Manager at G-Berries, describes the characteristics of the two varieties: "Naike is characterized by its absolute earliness (about 40 days earlier than Ventura), excellent shelf-life, high re-flowering rate, and significant productivity, reaching a production of more than 10 kg per plant. Tafì, on the other hand, has a high average size (18+), a clearly superior fruit quality, and high productivity."
Delfina Molina Imbaud
Luca Molari concludes: "With a view to the expansion and internationalization of the team, in order to offer even more precise and specific skills to the companies that will collaborate with us in this new project, G-Berries welcomes Delfina Molina Imbaud, the new Blueberry Development Supervisor of our team, in Cesena."
