In 2024, exports of Russian fruits, nuts, and vegetables to the European Union experienced a notable decline, as reported by Eurostat. The aggregate value of these exports from January to November 2024 reached €121.1 million, marking a 2.8-fold decrease from the same period in 2023. Vegetables represented the most significant reduction in exports, with sales amounting to €84 million. Conversely, the total export value of nuts and fruits from Russia was recorded at €17.1 million during this period.
The European market showed a particular interest in nuts and processed fruits from Russia. Among the vegetables exported, legumes were the most sought after, with asparagus, eggplants, and celery also seeing increased popularity among European consumers in 2024.
