Reports indicate that the current warm weather may have a temporary effect on consumption levels. Additionally, there are observations that crops planted later in the season are experiencing delays in maturation. Despite the favorable weather forecast, the diminishing day length and cooler nights might restrict their development.
In Belgium, assessments from test digs reveal that the average yields are trailing behind those of the previous year, primarily attributed to delays in planting. The average planting date lags almost a month behind the typical multi-year average.
Conversely, in the U.K., particularly in the southern regions, the process of preparing crops for storage is progressing well due to advanced burn down. However, in areas extending from the North Midlands northwards, many crops that were planted later are still in their growth phase. Notably, in Yorkshire last week, there was a continuation of irrigation practices for these later planted processing crops.
