Rene Bouman, FMI:

"Currently there is pressure on the lime market, but I expect export volumes to decrease quickly"

"The market for limes has been good in recent months. In the last few weeks we have seen that demand is slowing down, which is normal for the time of year, though there are a lot of boat delays which means there are extra limes arriving now in September," says Rene Bouman of FMI.

"Brazil is now at the end of the season and the limes are of moderate quality, this creates pressure and low prices in the market. In contrast, the local market in Brazil is good and I expect export volumes to decrease quickly and this will have a positive impact on the market situation here in Europe."
