The trade show got off to a busy start as the delegates made their ways through the halls. The buzz words were automation and sustainability. In Australia labour is still scarce and expensive so companies are automating the picking and especially the packing processes.

Packaging suppliers are all showcasing the latest in pulp and paper packing as the retailers move to remove plastic packaging from the shelves.

Meanwhile growers in both Australia and New Zealand are talking about very challenging growing conditions during the last few months, even years.

This year the speaker presentations are conveniently situated in enclosed spaces within the halls.
