Two-day event dedicated to greenhouse producers

Greenhouse show hosted in Sicily

The 1st "Agro Expo" has ended. This two-day event dedicated to greenhouse cultivation in the Sicilian coastal area between Licata (AG) and Portopalo (SR) was organized in Scoglitti (RG) in the company owned by the Gangarossa family.

“We wanted to raise the interest around a sector that boasts great socio-economic importance in our area. In addition, we wanted to promote ideal conditions so that companies could talk with suppliers about seeds, fertilizers, machines and tools. Gathering the leading brands in a single exhibition space was a source of pride for us," explained Amelia and Filippo Gangarossa, who organized the Expo.

The welcoming staff

Although of a small size, the 1st "Agro Expo" was an actual fair with 32 exhibitors alternating in the two days (April 20th and 27th). The edition focused on nutrition, genetics, crop defense, specialized irrigation and plastic materials.

Exhibitors from the breeding industry

“It's usually difficult to have the opportunity to talk to such important companies. Finding them all gathered together has been really interesting especially for those who, like me, do not have many occasions to attend fairs. Operators were very helpful and answered all my questions. The information I collected gave me the opportunity to find the right solutions. I hope other similar events will take place in the future, even on a larger scale," reported a greenhouse producer who attended both days.

And it is difficult to disagree with this producer, considering that the so-called “Fascia Trasformata Siciliana” boasts around 9000 hectares of covered facilities dedicated to specialized crops, with greenhouses and polytunnels generating a considerable economy.

We will have to wait and see with what frequency the event will be repeated in the future.
