Eman Shaheen, sales manager at Jozzby Farms:

"We have the problem of small-sized citrus fruits under control"

It has been widely known that Egyptian citrus growers have a problem with the abundance of small sized citrus fruits this season. But how do exporters deal with this problem and liquidate the small sizes surplus? According to Ms. Eman Shaheen, sales manager at Jozzby Farms, the grower has this problem is under control.

"We sell our surplus small-sized oranges in the domestic market, to juice factories and other food processing factories. A part of the small calibers' production is also exported to Sudan" says Ms. Shaheen.

The company usually exports its production to European markets and Asia but had to adapt to the challenges of the current season. Ms. Shaheen explains the company's operations: "We are a family business with a strong focus on quality and deep bonds with Europe, especially the Netherlands. We produce mainly citrus, strawberries, grapes, garlic, onions potatoes... and we have as well an IQF operation. All of our products are Certified Global-G.A.P, Grasp, and Sedex. We export to Asia and Europe, but this year we also exported to Sudan and supplied the local Egyptian market"

Ms. Shaheen explains "We listen to our customers. We have even arranged a nice space in our farms for our guests, where they can come and enjoy the venue, and follow the production process."
