"Significant demand for Scottish seed potatoes on the global market"

The Scottish Agri Export Hub has subsequently been set up by NFUS in partnership with SAOS to promote the export of Scottish produce, as well as seed potatoes it also promotes other veg and soft fruit.

This year the organisation will have a stand at Fruit Logistica in Berlin to showcase Scottish produce to the global market.

“Seed potatoes from Scotland are renowned for being healthy and high quality, and there is significant demand for them on the global market," said Patrick Hughes from SAOS. "Although the impact of Brexit has been disappointing and challenging for the sector, we cannot ignore the global opportunities.”

“We are delighted that the Scottish Agri Export Hub will be part of the Commercial Horticultural Association group of stands in Hall 21 and can support Scottish seed potato growers and provide a platform to create and develop new business contacts and open up new markets to the Scottish sector."

Another development for the seed industry is the recent launch of the Seed Potato Organisation, an independent co-operative for seed potato growers set up by a group of growers to collaboratively develop a profitable, resilient and sustainable seed potato sector

The Scottish Agri Export Hub will be in Hall 21 stand B42
