United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) is gaining traction with its Warehouse to Wheels program, with growth increasing by more than 300% over the past two years, the Providence, Rhode Island-based wholesaler said. Leader Price is back in a new guise: Casino, the owner of the brand, is testing the LP pilot store in Normanville, France, in one of the last Leader Price supermarkets. In 2020, Casino sold 545 shops of the discount format and three warehouses to rival Aldi. The group was left with around 90 shops and the rights to the brand. Potato shortage spurs Australian grocer to limit buying of fries
Australians looking forward to demolishing a serving (or three) of fries at home this summer may be forced to curb their appetite after a top grocer restricted purchases following a potato shortage. Coles Group Ltd., Australia’s second-largest supermarket chain, imposed a temporary purchase limit of two lots of frozen fries per transaction, citing supply issues, according to a statement posted on its website.
