Nigerian producers calls for agronomic help to increase production

Nigeria's fresh produce sector sees huge losses due to a lack of know how and agronomic knowledge. According to the Chairperson of the  Agriculture and Allied Group of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Edobong Akpabio, they can help to sustain the country's economy.

She says Nigeria lost the knowledge to grow better fruits thereby earning a better income. She also called for a focus on post-harvest processes to avoid expensive losses.

“We need to now consciously and intentionally cultivate our fruits such that they are satisfactory to our market. Right now, we just take our fruits to the major markets and expect that people will buy them," Akpabio stated.
